Volunteer Opportunities
The CAC has many volunteer opportunities. Each volunteer must obtain a criminal background and fingerprint check before they can volunteer directly with the children. The safety of the children we serve is our first priority. Below you will find a form to fill out if you are interested in a volunteer position. We will contact you and set up a time for you to come and learn about the CAC.
Family Advocate Intern(s):
- Provide phone contact to caregivers on a regular basis
- Provide resource referrals to families in need
- Act as liaison between caregiver & CAC staff
- Keep client folders updated and complete necessary documents in a timely fashion
- Co-facilitate and organize community awareness & educational programs upon request
- Participate in the CAC fundraisers, activities, and other events
- Electronically & manually score assessments for our therapist
On-site Volunteers:
Must also pay for and pass the background check. We need volunteers to provide our clients transportation to their therapy appointments, provide mentoring support to our young teens, help with our website & facebook pages, provide administrative support to our staff, and assist with our community events. Volunteers are required to provide a minimum committment of 40 hous during their time with us. (There is no required time frame for completing the 40 hours.)
Other Volunteer Opportunities
- Auburn’s Cityfest- Last Saturday in April, we’re in need of volunteers to help setup & manage a “carnival” booth for children during this community event. We will be giving away prizes and flyers to increase awareness about our programs in the community.
- Trot for Tots- in April , if you love the outdoors then this may be the event for you. Volunteers will assist participants during this trail ride to benefit disadvantaged children in our area.
- Toast of the Town/ Silent Auction Fundraiser- July 17th, we’re looking for volunteers to serve as our Ambassadors during our biggest fundraising event of the year. The event is held at the Saugahatchee Country Club.
- Students Assisting Families Everyday (S.A.F.E.) Program- Is a new program we will be collaborating with the Victim’s Service Officer in the District Attorney’s Office. This program will be designed to pair volunteers with child victims who are scheduled to appear in court that day. The volunteers will essentially be responsible for entertaining the child before the child is summoned into the courtroom. Hopefully, this will reduce some nervous tension children may be experiencing.
Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Meals
MDT meets once a month over the noon hour to review and collaborate on select cases. The CAC solicits donated meals for this regular meeting. Restaurants, service organizations, church groups, and individuals are welcome to participate by donating a meal for 15 - 20 people, either through restaurant catering or home-cooked pot-luck food. For more details contact Alice Reid at alice.reid@cacea.net.
"What a wonderful opportunity this gives us to show those who work with our abused children how much we appreciate their tireless efforts to keep the abuse from happening again."-- Anonymous
